At what point did people as a collective decide performing was polite. When did we put away the courage to allow our tongue to speak the truth of our hearts or for our face to match our real experiences. When did conflict scare us away? And leave us half smiling with whispering souls.
People are not very human. Hiding tears at the dinner table and answering “fine, how are you?”. Abandoning any traction left with our squeeky voices to greet strangers at work. Showcasing our tribe online as we sit home alone.
Who really knows anyone or themselves, when we are taught who to be and how to act and what to want. What is left besides those who ‘behave’ and those who do not. Why are we so afraid of who we are.
